“High Garden is the highest vineyard in Gibbston, on schist rock soils sloping steeply towards the north with very long sunshine hours, making it one of the warmest sites in the coolest subregion for Pinot Noir.
From a sun drenched site high up on a north facing slope in Gibbston comes this ethereal yet powerful Pinot Noir. Aromas of red fruits cherries and raspberries with a wild herbal edge, are followed by a rich and satisfying palate. A multi layered wine with a firm backbone of mouthwatering mineral acidity, which goes on and on. With the balance and depth to develop over many years in bottle the wine is already delicious as a youngster on release, demonstrating the heights Pinot Noir can achieve on a warm site, with low yields in Gibbston.
